My name is Kevin Canty and I am running for re-election to the Plymouth Select Board.

 

I have lived in Plymouth for my whole life. I grew up in West Plymouth and have lived in North Plymouth for the past decade. I know what it’s like to be a kid here, to graduate from high school here, to commute to Boston for work and school from here, to buy my first home here, and to start my professional career here. I got involved in Town government to make it easier for folks of all ages to live here, and I’m seeking another term because I still have work to do.

I was first elected to the Select Board in 2023, and prior to that I served on the Town’s Advisory & Finance Committee for 9 years. I know how our government works and how to get things done within it. In my day job, I’m a local attorney representing clients right here in our community.

 

Since being elected to the Select Board, I have worked hard to improve the relationship that our residents have with our government. I brought Select Board meetings out of Town Hall and into neighborhoods throughout the community through the “On the Road” initiative. I improved transparency by having our entire meeting packets, including all the backup materials, posted online. And I have fought projects and policies that were bad for our community, from the proposed sale of the Atlantic Country Club in South Plymouth to the proposed Pulte 40B project in North Plymouth.

 

I am seeking another term because my work isn’t done. I want to make Plymouth more affordable for our residents and improve our local economy so that more people can afford to live and work here. I want to improve our infrastructure and lower the burden on residential taxpayers. Simply put, I want to move Plymouth forward, and my track record shows I can deliver results for our community.
